BMX racing is a sport of cycling on track which is made of hills and banked corners. BMX stands for Bicycle Moto-Cross. It is the same sport as Moto-cross except you have no engine; you are tyhe engine! You will need a special kind of bike that has no suspension and only one brake. The bikes always have 20" or 24" wheels. The tracks have lots of different types of bumps such as roller bumps, doubles, triples, tabletops and step-ups. At the top of the track there is a starting gate so it is fair for everyone to get out at the same time. There are always BMX events happening all over the world, UK, America, France, Holland and many other places. BMX Racing started in the 1960s by kids who had watched motorcycle moto-cross, and thought they could try the same thing on their bikes. That's how BMX started.
Its easier to understand what BMX racing is by watching a real race.
